The Xerox Phaser 8560 is a color solid ink best suited for small size business operations. The printer comes equipped with USB connectivity, as well as an Ethernet for easy networking between workgroup members. The Xerox Phaser 8560 can print on a variety of media types and sizes. Is a notarized document without the hard-press seal valid?
I went to a local bank to have some documents notarized. The lady would only press an ink stamp on it and told me she didn't have a hard-press seal. Would that document be valid without the hard seal? The ink stamp uses black ink, so it is almost impossible to tell the original notarized document from its xerox copies.
...in the State of California, I can answer this. I was not required to use a raised seal. Only three states require a raised seal, or embossed seal: AL, DC, VI
All other states accept an ink stamped notarization.
Unrelated trivia #1: When I was a Notary Public, I used only blue ink on all official documents, whether notarized or not, because it was easier to distinguish an original from a copy.
Unrelated trivia #2: Some states will allow notarization of electronic signatures, beginning this year, but that is not without some controversy regarding the practice.
