What color should my crown molding be?
I have a Tuscan/ Traditional feel to my living room with creamed-coffee color walls. We have a light cherry hardwood floor and chair rail. All of the other furniture in the room is dark mahogany. The other colors of the room include burgundy, and variations of browns. My ceiling is white, but I don't think that will look right to have white crown molding. I was wondering if I should go with a cream color paint or to stain the molding so that it is the same color as my floor and chair rail? Any help would be appreciated. My husband and I really want to do this, but if we can't figure out a color we are going to leave the room the way it is.
A cream colored trim and ceiling would make the space look "trimmed out" and classy clean lines are always nice on the eyes. I would not go with cream if ceiling is white. I would not stain the trim same as chair rail because it might feel a little geometric with all the same colored lines on a wall.
