what is premium vs commercial dog food?
we're getting a puppy soon [not exactly sure on what breed] and i've been doing some research on the brand of food that's most healthy for a dog. i've always been seeing people feeding their dogs iams, royal canine, eukabana, and always hear of purina, pedigree etc. then i was doing my research and i came upon "really good quality, high rated" dog food brands that i've never even heard of such as orijen, nutro, taste of the wild, blue wilderness or wtv etc etc. these seem to be a lot better.
what do you recommend, and which section is the commercial, and which is the premuim? i'm guessing the well-known brands are commercial?

I think "premium" means that corn is the third ingredient rather than the first. They lowest quality foods have corn as the main ingredient: Purina, Beneful, Science Diet, Alpo, Kibbles n bits. Then comes "premium" where corn is the third ingredient: Nutro, Iams, Eukanuba. Then comes the really good stuff: Orijen, Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Taste of the Wild. Nutro is nowhere near the same quality as Orijen, Taste of the Wild and Blue Buffalo.
