Cheap Shelving
Cheap shelving is ideal for keeping your items together and allowing you to go directly to what you are looking for. Cheap shelving can be used at home, often in garages and in industry. There are a few different types of cheap shelving including open shelving, heavy duty rivet racking, blotless racking, clad shelving and archive storage shelving. If you buy cheap shelving make sure you buy metal shelving as plastic shelving is not as strong and the last thing you want is for it to collapse once you have loaded it up with all your items. Most shelving is delivered flat packed so it is easy to move piece by piece to the place you want it and then build it there, however make sure someone is in when you order it as the delivery driver will normally need a signature and will not be able to leave it at a empty house.
Cheap shelving is also heavily used in industry as several are normally needed for the purchasing department or warehouse. Big savings can be made when ordering large amounts of cheap shelving in one go as it is more economical to do one delivery than several.
Colour coordinating shelving can also help you find what your after quickly and easily. You could have blue shelving for items that have passed the goods inwards inspection process and red shelving for items that have failed the goods inwards inspection process be it for being faulty, being ordered wrong or being cosmetically damaged. This gives a extra layer of quality protection that sub standard parts will not end up entering the manufacturing process.

How can I cover up open shelving?
My baby is ready to crawl and already getting into things from his walker. We have low open shelves in the living room where our electronics, games, movies and books are stored. The shelves are about 2.5 feet high on one side and a little over a foot on the other. They are open on the front and the back. I've searched high and low for DIY projects to aid this problem but haven't found anything. So, my question is this: what can we do to cover the shelves so baby can't access our stuff, but still have it accessible to us? I'd really like to have some kind of an acrylic cover, acrylic doors or something similar. Can you help?
Our shelves are very similar to these found at IKEA: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20116274 They are laid lengthwise on the floor. We have two side-by-side and one more on the top left.
You can add tracks and acrylic sliding panels or actual doors to your cabinets.
I do not believe in moving anything for babies..teach them what they can and cannot touch, but if you feel it necessary, then adding a door or panels is an easy fix that can look great.
