They are easy to apply, cure quickly under a UV light and can be applied as an overlay, extension on tips or even sculpted on nails for extra length.
The gel is usually transparent, pink or white to mimic the natural nail color. The shine and finish on application usually eliminates the need to use nail polish. However, if you prefer colored nails to flaunt your beautiful manicure and pedicure, the best way to do it would be with colored UV gels that are available in a wide range of colors to suit the season, mood or your outfit. These also last longer than over the counter nail polish.
An experienced nail tech will first prepare your nails and get them to the desired shape and length. A thin layer of the colored gel of your choice is then applied from the cuticle to the tip of the nail, using the correct gel brush. Using a big brush will help spread the gel faster and better. The nail is then cured under a UV light for 2-3 minutes or as recommended by the manufacturer. The tacky extras are removed with a remover or wiping solution.
If you desire an intense color, you can always apply 2-3 layers of gel and cure. Finish by applying a top coat to seal in the shine and prevent the gel from peeling or chipping. Done correctly, your clients are always going to ask you for colored UV gels and will forget the nail polish.
This season, you can stock up on color gels like Carmine, Emerald, and Tomato Red to go with your outfits. These colors will add the warmth to the winter chill. You can also select the glitter, metallic and silver colored gels for the party animal in you. It will add the much needed glitz and glam to the simplest of outfits. You can also go in for the pearly, pure or pastel gel shades for a more demure look. As a nail professional, you will also notice greater acceptance among your clients to the color gels when they discover the superior qualities in them. These gels require the same maintenance as regular gel nails and can easily be applied and removed. You just have to make sure that the gel is mixed well with a spatula before application. This allows the color to spread better and evenly.
