Canon Pixma MP560 Review
Canon has always had an eye for style and, in that respect, the Pixma MP560 doesn't dissatisfy. At rest, this multi-function inkjet printer, which has a scanner, two paper-input trays along with a duplexer, is a streamlined black and silver box. On the job, it is a printing hub, having a flip-up display and iPod-esque revolving controller. Costing about £100 on the web, you obtain a lot of printer for the money, with sharp results supplied at respectable rates, along with built-in Wi-Fi networking ability.
To acquire a significant review score, a printer has to accomplish well anything you chuck at it, and, on the whole, the MP560 does. Even at the 'fast' setting plain text is razor-sharp and unspattered. Colours are vivid and vibrant also we experienced no complications printing black text on coloured backgrounds. You could rightly expect a little bleeding regarding the black into the lighter colours because the paper gets to be saturated, however the MP560 is able to to avert this at all quality levels.
There tend to be noticeable distinctions between the fineness of the print at all three levels, with a coarse grain inside sections of solid colour printed using the fast setting, as well as super-smooth shades at the high setting. Why does my USB printer only work when connected directly to the laptop and not thru a hub?
I am using a USB-to-parallel adapter to connect an older Canon inkjet to my new laptop. Everything works fine when connected directly to the laptop USB port. However it does not work when using a Dynex Crystal externally powered USB hub. Windows 7 recognizes the USB-to-parallel adapter as IEEE 1284 controller when connected thru the hub, but nothing prints to the printer. Windows 7 troubleshooter says everything is OK. All other devices (mouse, flash drives, etc.) work thru the hub. Device Manager says USB Printing Support and power is available at the USB hub when the printer is connected. Any help is appreciated.
That Dynex hub isn't a very good one. It only supplies about 1/4 the DC power a real USB 2.0 port does, so some high power devices won't work with it.
There's a reason Dynex gear is the lowest price.
