Contribution of Footwear Manufacturers in Indian Economy
In recent years, Indian economy has surged at a good pace, and when we talk about various industries which have contributed in its growth and expansion, the Indian leather industry comes at top place. And now, several leading brands of world-leading countries such as US & Europe are either importing or looking forward to get the leather chemicals, pure leather and products made from it, from India. Apart from this, the leather industry in India is also one of the oldest one and currently employs approx. 2.5 million people. However, among all leather products that are being manufactured in India, footwear manufacturing in India holds the top position.
Moreover, reports from the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion of various industries also stated that the Indian leather industry is developing at a very good pace. However, till now Indian leather industry has contributed approx. 3% in the global trade, whereas China contributes approx. 20%. To increase the competitiveness of the Indian industry, Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers and Exporters Association and the Government of India are making efforts to promote this industry and increase the market share.
As a result, India is also being considered as one of the top most destinations all over the world for investing in leather products. Apart from this, when footwear is being manufactured by an Indian footwear exporter Pune,Chennai,Gurgaon, the use of premium quality laces, cushion, sole, adhesive, steel shank, hook, heel, polish and chemical finishes etc. is ensured by the concerned authorities.
Though leather industries are situated in almost every Indian state, Tamil Nadu, the southern state of India provides almost 60% of India's best leather. On the second and third position are Maharashtra and Delhi respectively, which are then followed by various NCR regions and other states.

It has been established to promote and protect the Interest of its each and every member involved in the leather trading activity whether at home or abroad. It provides sensible advice and help manufacturers and traders to deal with the problems associated with their work of manufacturing and trading of finished leather. And, since its inception it has been able to help many companies to grab better opportunities and increase their growth potential.
