There is HUGE difference between the Hollywood film industry and the British Film/Theatre industry for starters. Hollywood is about money and business. In Hollywood there are a very small selection of "actors" who are well known to us because the people making these deals have orchestrated it so that we know and love them. LOTS of money is invested into them to make them as attractive to the public as possible...as a result they sell movies. It's not about their acting ability or even their looks, its about people behind them using their face to MAKE MONEY for themselves.
Outside Hollywood, however, you are more likely to find an industry more interested in talented actors, well scripted story lines and people who are interested in the "art" of film making more than they are in making money.

As for as Drama Schools are concerned, most actors, even really good ones can expect to be rejected at least 3 times. There can be a few reasons for this. Perhaps you are too young as drama schools like someone with life experience and not people straight out of high school. Drama school is not about grooming people for stardom, its about learning how to act and learning about the art of theatre. Sometimes people just don't "fit" what that school is about, or they show little signs of talent at the time. As actor, it is just as important to find a Drama school that works for YOU as much as the other way around.
