The head of the penis is called the glans, not the gland. It does sound almost identical, an easy and common mistake.
Don't let this spoil your confidence. You are lucky to have a foreskin in the first place, which is necessary for complete sexual sensitivity and function.
Those of us who were circumcised at birth have very little sensitivity, as the glans has been exposed for all of that time, allowing about ten layers of keratinization to build up by the age of puberty.
