Where can I laminate the pickguard for my guitar?
And after I need to glue it down. It's just a paper design over the real pickguard but i'd like to cover it up so my fingers don't shred it up. Can a store like Staples help me with this?
You can purchase a self-stick laminate sheet (or even a clear shelf liner) from office supply stores, or even some department stores. This may not be the most durable method of protecting the applique tho....it is after all, only a thin layer of vinyl.
You might want to consider putting a few layers of clear polyurethane over the design... this will dry hard, and be very scratch resistant. You'd want to test this on a seperate piece first tho, to make sure it didnt make the ink in your design 'run' or 'bleed'. It would be necessary to mask off the rest of the guitar, so you might want to consider taking it to a cabinet shop, or other furniture repair individual, and let them do it for you.
