Fun Cardinal Trivia and Some Cardinals Tickets Information
If you've been a longtime loyalist of Arizona Cardinals you should be very familiar with the extensive history this team celebrates. Their many years as members of the National Football League have not only resulted in a lot of Cardinals tickets sales to loyal fans wanting to see them play, but a lot of good stories as well. My family is proud of 3 long generations of Cardinals fandom, which is why a lot of stories are familiar to me. Today, whenever we find some free time, we still get Cardinals tickets for my family. Being a constant Cardinals ticket buyer, and an all out Cardinals fan, I just love retelling fun stories about my favorite team. Here are a just a few unforgettable ones! A Cardinal ticket suddenly has a lot more meaning, if you feel like you have personal information and a personal connection to the team!
1. The Arizona Cardinals really take pride in being the oldest continuous professional football team in all of the United States. The Cardinals been based all over the United States many times, as well as have had many different names. If you hear these names, just remember that they were, at one point or another, still Cardinal's names: Morgan Athletic Club, Racine Normals, Racine Cardinals, Chicago Cardinals, St. Louis Cardinals, Phoenix Cardinals and presently, the Arizona Cardinals. It was only between the 1940s and 1950s that official Cardinals tickets were sold.
2 Don Coryell is known in the country for being one of the best coaches that has ever worked with the Arizona Cardinals. He was the one who brought the team great publicity as he was the first coach to ever win 100 games at both the college and the pro football level. That's no ordinary task to achieve but Don managed to do it. It just goes to show the talent and skill working in everyone who is a part of the Cardinals team.
3. In 2006, some members of the Cardinals thought it to be a great idea to start something called the Ring of Honor. The members decided some of the deserving individuals that were to be part of this prestigious circle were Charles Bidwell, Jimmy Conzelman, John "Paddy" Driscoll, Marshall Goldberg, Dick "Night Train" Lane, Ernie Nevers, Charley Trippi and Ollie Matson. These guys were officially inducted as the initial members of the Ring of Honor.
4. The Cardinals have actually had some non-football Olympians come play for their team. Ollie Marson is one of the celebrated Olympians as he took home 2 bronze medals at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics for 400m and the 4x400 relay run events. He managed to attain these medals after graduating from the University of San Francisco and before he even played his first season for the Chicago Cardinals.
5. Everyone must know by now with what the Cardinals mascot looks like, but new fans may not know his name. To fans, the Cardinals Mascot is called "Big Red".
