Why it is called as bulldog?

English bulldog, or a Boston terrier?
So i have convinced my mother to buy a dog, and since it's my last year of High school. I'm wondering if i should take the advantage, and ask for an English bulldog as a Graduation present since one from a good breeder cost as much as a used car. Which mean at the end of may next year, and that's no biggie. Or get a Boston Terrier now, and enjoy their lovable personality . Their both great, and each time I look at them i change my mind. I'm in a little trouble, and need help.

My bulldogs do not cost me any more in vet bills than any of my other dogs
I have no,genetic heart/thyroid/skin/ear/tail (most of my tails are the proper straight tails)/bone (i.e hip/knee/etc)/joint etc issues, no allergies (something ignorant people say is typical of the breed but it is not)
My bulldogs love to play, most people stereotype them as being lazy couch potatoes but that just means they have never been around a true bulldog.
Would you need to clean skin folds? Yes, but this is minimal and if you make it a routine you will get so used to it. The straighter and looser the tail the less chance of problems. But the nose roll can harbor bacteria if it is wet because it is humid in there, the tail can do the same if it is tight and/or screwed or straight. So just make sure these areas are clean and dry. Best thing to use is a baby wipe and put some lotriman power in them, the lotriman will soak up any moisture and keep it from chaffing.
But you should get whatever you want, which ever fits your lifestyle better.
