Five Great Bulletin Boards For The Workplace
If there's one thing every workplace needs, it's a high-quality bulletin board. They offer a great way to display announcements, calendars, safety plans, and even photographs. If you need one for your office, there are five fantastic ones you should look at before making your purchase. Here they are in no particular order....
- Quartet Prestige Plus Magnetic Fabric Bulletin Boards. These products are perfect for when you need an upscale board for your reception area or conference room. They are covered in fabric that's self-healing and magnetic, so you can use both push pins and magnets to hang up your documents. These products will stay in great shape for years and they won't fade. Two different frames are available: mahogany and aluminum. Sizes range from 35" x 25" to 71" x 48".
- Ghent Image Trim Corkboards. These products are durable and self-healing, thanks to the natural cork surface that's 1/8" thick. They range in size from 4' x 6' to 4' x 12' so you'll be able to find one that fits into your workspace. These corkboards also look great because each one has an aluminum frame that's coated with either a black marble or gray granite finish to give your workplace a unique look. Ghent Image Trim corkboards are also covered by a generous 10-year guarantee.
- Ghent PremaTak Vinyl Bulletin Boards. These innovative products feature a sleek vinyl surface that's a welcome departure from the typical corkboard surface. The vinyl is available in 12 designer colors (silver, navy, berry, etc.) and it will stand up to heavy-duty use. These boards can even be washed if they get dirty. PremaTak tackboards can have either an aluminum frame or one in which the vinyl is wrapped around the edges of the product. Like the Image Trim corkboards, they're guaranteed for up to ten years of use. Available sizes include 3' x 5' (the smallest) and 4' x 12' (the largest).
- Balt Best-Rite Natural Add-Cork Bulletin Board. Balt is one of the best names when it comes to corkboards. Their natural corkboards are good for office use and feature surfaces that are made of 100% natural cork, a completely renewalable resource. These are great products to use if you're concerned about the planet. Each of them have frames fashioned from anodized aluminum and they also come with mounting equipment for easy installation. These products come in a variety of sizes with the largest measuring 4' x 12'.
- Ghent Natural Tan Cork Bulletin Boards. If your office needs a corkboard for the break room or photocopier area, a Ghent corkboard would be perfect. The self-healing surface can within a lot of repeated tacking even by staples. The cork is attached to a fiberboard so it will last for years but not cost you a lot of money. Ghent corkboards come with a 10-year guarantee and range in size from 3' x 5' to 4' x 12'.
Hopefully there's a bulletin board on this list that's right for your office. Get yours today so you can display all those important documents!

Financially strapped for cash, how much might I get back on taxes next year?
I was fired from Home Depot in June and now I'm preparing to go to school for the fall semester. My financial aid and a grant were enough to cover tuition, books I'll later buy and transportation...but I know I'll need some more and I'd like to have an estimate of what I can look forward to around tax time. Here's the tax breakdown as of my last paycheck:
FICA-MED: 77.08
U.S. FICA: 223. 27
FED INC TAX: 346.54
MARYLAND: 209. 24
BALT CNTY: 81. 97.
My gross pay was 5315. 90. so can somebody give me an estimate on how much I could expect to look for? I am single and have independently claimed myself since 2008.
Thanks for the Help.
H&R Block calculator gave me an estimate of about 620 dollars back. Does that sound right?
You will have very little liability, and should recieve most if not all of the federal and state taxes withheld back. So about $550.
I don't think you can get city taxes refunded ( I live in Baltimore and never have), so HR might be adding that on in error.
