Blu Ray or DVD for pics?
I'm struggling between burning my large file pics ( I need large file) on DVD or Blu Ray not for quality but for the abilty to burn more data
on each disk IE not have to edit my "Europe trip" so it can fit on one std DVD..I like the idea of burning everything I shoot each year on 1 disk too.
Id use archival disks either way
My worry is A wasting money as I have a DVD burner and I could get off my duff and edit the trips etc and B That Blu Ray becomes a fad and goes away like mini discs did !
Of course Ill keep a copy on HDs as well
If I knew a hraddrive would last forever Id store em that way !
Archival and longevity are issues for me too

Either is a good way to go if you already have a BluRay burner.
The bluRay holds a whole lot more images so will take a lot longer to burn
There is no reason you have to choose one over the other
CD= 700 MB
DVD = 4.3 GB
DVD two-layer= 8.5 GB
BluRay = 25 GB
BluRay two-layer = 50 GB
What you will find is your image library will consist of any or all of these storage medium.
